OneACCS implemented

Gadsden, Ala. – In June, Gadsden State Community College was among the first to have access to a new, effective and easy-to-use registration system known as OneACCS. It is a single, cloud-based enterprise resource planning software solution.

“OneACCS allows students to efficiently access courses across multiple platforms that accommodate their college and career plans in a streamlined form,” said Dr. Teresa Rhea, dean of Enrollment and Retention. “The effectiveness and efficiency of OneACCS will lead to improved service delivery.”

All students have been given a new, unique student identification numbers for personalized service in the system, formerly known as Self Service Banner. In addition to registration, students may obtain financial aid information on OneACCS. A mobile component to the system allows students to register wherever they are located.

“OneACCS streamlines processes and information by integrating areas throughout the entire community college system,” Rhea said. “We have seen great benefits to our unified system.”

The transition from the Banner system to OneACCS was no small feat because it involved everything from student records to human resources information.

“We worked diligently with our students to make this a successful transition,” she said. “It proved to be very beneficial for students to meet with their advisors to prepare registering in OneACCS.” Other colleges joining Gadsden State in the pilot group were Calhoun, Drake State, Jefferson State, Northwest-Shoals, Shelton State, Snead State, Wallace-Selma and Wallace State.
