Four winners have close ties to the Gadsden State family
In October, 19 winners of the annual Excellence in Education Awards were announced during a virtual program hosted by The Chamber of Gadsden/Etowah and presented by Gadsden State Community College. Four winners have close ties to the Gadsden State family.
Rebecca Southern, the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program director, won the EIE Award for Career Technical Educator – Post-Secondary, an award sponsored by Etowah CARES.
Billa Burger, computer science instructor, received the coveted Heart of An Educator – Post-Secondary, an award sponsored by Alabama Teachers Credit Union.
Hunter Enders, a student at Gadsden City High School and son of Beth Enders, administrative assistant to Dean Leslie Worthington, received the Exceptional K-12 Student Award sponsored by TeamOne Chevrolet.
Kerry Griffith, a GSCC graduate and past president of the SGA, won the Exceptional Post-Secondary Student Award sponsored by Gadsden State Community College.
