In September, the Gadsden State Community College baseball team took the field for its first home game since 2011. The Cardinals played against Snead State Community College at the Gadsden City High School baseball field.

Dr. Kathy Murphy, president of Gadsden State, announced on April 18, 2022, that baseball and softball teams would once again be fielded at the College. The baseball and softball teams disbanded at Gadsden State in 2011 and 2016, respectively.
